How is everything going

After the gum is cut, a small hole forms in the jaw bone. In it, the doctor installs an implant that closes with a plug. Stitches are placed on the wound. All manipulations are performed under local or general anesthesia, therefore they are absolutely painless.
After 3–6 months, after the engraftment of the implant is completed, the gum is re-cut. The specialist removes the cap and puts on the gingiva shaper on the root so that the soft tissues look aesthetically pleasing. After another 3 weeks, the shaper is replaced with a special head - an abutment, on which the prosthesis is fixed.
In some cases, simultaneous dental implantation is possible: the installation of an implant and a permanent denture are performed in one visit.

When bone building is required

For the implant to firmly take its place, it must be surrounded by bone tissue of at least 1.5 mm. At the preparatory stage, it often turns out that the patient’s bone thickness is less than acceptable. In such situations, in our dental implant clinic in Moscow, the bone is pre-expanded.

The operation for the introduction of osteoplastic material lasts only a few hours, but the recovery period can take up to 4 months. During this time, planted tissues are completely fused with natural ones. Only after that we, being confident in a good result, start implantation.
