Do you think that treating your teeth hurts? So, you have not been to the dentist for a long time. In modern clinics, patients are offered various anesthesia techniques that make any dental procedure absolutely comfortable and painless. You just have to choose the most suitable for you.
There are two options - local and general anesthesia. The first is preferable for small interventions, for example, in the case of:
Local anesthesia in our clinic is primarily distinguished by its safety. We use modern drugs based on articaine and mepivacaine, in favor of which all European clinics have long made their choice. Both drugs exhibit 5 times more powerful analgesic properties than traditional anesthetics (novocaine / lidocaine), while they are less toxic and allergenic. The standard of harmlessness in modern practice is articaine. It is allowed to be used for children over 4 years of age, nursing and, if necessary, pregnant women.
The mechanism of action of these agents is very simple: they cause a loss of sensitivity at the injection site and around it. No sensitivity - no pain. The effect develops in just a couple of minutes and lasts for an hour.
Indications for general anesthesia may be volumetric treatment or a strong fear of the patient before the procedure. In case of cardiovascular disorders, severe arterial hypertension and some neurological diseases, the use of local anesthetics is contraindicated, therefore, we recommend that such patients resort to general anesthesia.
With general anesthesia, the patient’s consciousness is completely turned off due to the deep inhibition of processes in the central nervous system. Despite such a “terrible” definition, the technique does not pose a great danger. Modern drugs for general anesthesia (hypnotics) do not have a toxic effect, do not accumulate in the body and are not addictive. They can be used even for serious illnesses such as epilepsy, bronchial asthma, or heart defects. In difficult cases, we offer "total anesthesia" to eliminate the stress that a patient can get when using only local anesthesia.
